Ikjae Lee, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Neuromuscular Medicine. Dr. Lee received his MD from Seoul National University College of Medicine in South Korea. After moving to United States, he completed residency in Neurology and fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. During his training, he received Outstanding Junior Investigators by American Stroke Association in 2013 and Resident & Fellow member recognition award by American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine in 2016. Dr. Lee joined University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016 as an Assistant Professor in Neurology Department where he served as a Co-Director of ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic focusing on high quality care of ALS and other neuromuscular disease patients. His expertise in clinical neuromuscular medicine fueled his passion in education and research leading to achievement of 2017 Best Abstract Award by American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine and 2018 Faculty Teacher of the Year Award selected by University of Alabama at Birmingham Neurology Residents. Finally, Dr. Lee joined Columbia University Department of Neurology, Division of Neuromuscular Medicine, Eleanor and Lou Gehrig ALS Center in 2020 where he will continue his efforts as a clinician-researcher. Dr. Lee is board certified in Neurology, Neuromuscular medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
